Erik Surber has twenty years of professional library experience including academic and public libraries in Tennessee, California, and Iowa. As a branch manager of a regional library in Los Angeles, he helped the library transition through major change including massive layoffs and restructuring. He was asked to head a team to develop one of three strategic directions of the library. Erik was also part of a website redesign team. As a library director in a small suburban library in Iowa, Erik oversaw improving statistics in library visits, circulation, and program attendance. He helped transition the library from small-town to mid-sized and planned for an upcoming expansion in the building. His proudest accomplishment there was the budget management including a 25% increase in staffing.
